Sierra Nevada Ski Resort

To those who think of Spain as all sun sea sand and sangria the Sierra Nevada Ski Resort offers a refreshing contrast.

Ski Resort, GranadaLocated just two hours away from the Costa del Sol and just a half hours drive above Granada it has the best snow and ski conditions in Spain. Some spectacular scenery, superb skiing, usually in sunny conditions and within easy reach of Granada (and its airport) and close enough to ski in the mornings and relax on the beach in the afternoons.

The resort season is usually 4-5 months long and one can ski each day and even nights. The resort has an abundance of snow making equipment which supplements the natural snow and conditions to offer some of the best conditions inSierra Nevada Europe. There are over 60 kms of ski slopes with 45 pistes and several off piste routes, 2 cable cars, and plenty of chair and ski lifts.

Full training and equipment hire is available on site as well as facilities for snowboarding and other newer snow sports.

There is ample car parking for day trippers and skiers alike with nearly 3000 parking places and coach parking, etc.

Bars and restaurants flourish here as do hotels and shops and even off season some stay open making the Sierra Nevada a well worthwhile day trip for tourists, bearing in mind although one could be on the beach in less than two hours, or on the golf courses, it is advisable to be prepared and wrap up well before reaching your destination. The last mile or so of the winding roads could have snow in bad weather.

Open season is normally the end of November to the end of April.
